Use Magic Link across supported WooCommerce, membership, LMS, and community login flows while keeping account creation under control.
VentraConnect Pro extends Magic Link beyond core WordPress login forms and into supported third-party authentication flows.
This guide covers:
- WooCommerce login, My Account, and checkout behaviour
- How Guardrails affect supported integration login forms
- Magic Link Login Only vs Login & Register
- Membership, LMS, and community login placements
- Why login and registration should remain separate
- How to test integration behaviour safely
What Pro Adds for Magic Link
VentraConnect Free provides Magic Link for supported core WordPress login flows. VentraConnect Pro extends the same Magic Link authentication method into supported third-party integrations.
Supported Pro integration families include:
- WooCommerce
- Membership and community platforms
- LMS and course platforms
- Supported comments/login placements
- Inline Magic Link forms for custom layouts
VentraConnect does not replace the registration logic of WooCommerce, your membership plugin, or your LMS. It adds Magic Link authentication to supported surfaces while respecting the account-creation rules of those flows.
WooCommerce Login and My Account
WooCommerce login and My Account are normally used by customers who already have an account.
This keeps My Account login as a login surface instead of silently turning it into a public signup form.
WooCommerce Checkout
Checkout is different from My Account login because WooCommerce may legitimately create a customer account during checkout.
At checkout:
- Existing customers can authenticate with Magic Link where the placement is enabled
- New customers can still follow the WooCommerce checkout account-creation flow when your WooCommerce and VentraConnect settings allow it
- Magic Link Login Only / Login & Register still affects whether Magic Link itself may create a user
- Guardrails should not be treated as a reason to globally block legitimate checkout registration
Test checkout separately from My Account. These are different user journeys and should not be assumed to have identical account-creation behaviour.
Magic Link Registration Mode Still Applies
Magic Link keeps its own method-level registration mode inside supported integrations.
Important: Login & Register does not mean “create users everywhere.” The surrounding integration flow and Guardrail rules still matter.
Guardrails on Supported Integration Login Forms
One of the main reasons to use VentraConnect Guardrails is to stop supported login forms from becoming unintended registration shortcuts.
Why this matters
- Login forms stay login forms
- Registration happens through the intended onboarding path
- New accounts are not created accidentally from every authentication button
- Membership, enrollment, checkout, or registration logic stays with the platform designed to handle it
Membership & Community Integrations
VentraConnect Pro supports authentication placements across supported membership and community platforms.
Supported integration family includes:
- MemberPress
- Paid Memberships Pro
- Paid Member Subscriptions
- Ultimate Member
- BuddyPress
- Supported BuddyBoss experiences
Each platform can have separate login, registration, membership checkout, and account pages. Magic Link should be tested on the exact supported surface rather than assuming every form behaves the same way.
Do not bypass the platform's intended signup flow. If a membership plugin expects users to register through a membership checkout or signup page, keep that process intact.
LMS & Course Integrations
VentraConnect Pro also supports Magic Link placements across supported LMS platforms.
Supported LMS family includes:
- LearnDash
- LearnPress
- LifterLMS
- Tutor LMS
An LMS may have separate login, course registration, enrollment, checkout, or student account flows. Treat each one as a separate context.
On a supported learner login form, Guardrails can keep Magic Link available for existing students while requiring new users to follow the intended registration or enrollment path.
Inline Magic Link Forms Pro
VentraConnect Pro also provides an inline Magic Link form for custom layouts and page-builder designs.
The inline form uses the same Magic Link logic as the normal flow. Registration mode, Guardrails, redirects, rate limiting, and email delivery rules still apply.
See the Inline Magic Link & Email OTP Forms guide for shortcode and layout details.
How to Test an Integration
Recommended test checklist:
- Identify the integration's existing-user login form
- Identify the proper new-user registration / checkout / enrollment flow
- Confirm whether Magic Link is set to Login Only or Login & Register
- Test the login form with an existing user email
- Test the same login form with a completely new email
- Confirm a blocked new user is directed toward the proper signup flow when Guardrails are active
- Test the legitimate registration or checkout flow separately
- Verify the redirect after successful Magic Link login
Always test logged out. Use a private/incognito session so an existing login session does not hide the real behaviour.
